Become a Rooted Function Holistic Practitioner
This is your opportunity to become a Certified Rooted Function Holistic Practitioner — a trauma-informed, culturally rooted certification that bridges the gap between spirituality and clinical healing.
Rooted Function Theory™ is my original psychology of patterns and frequency. It was created to honor the ways Black and Brown communities have survived and adapted, often carrying coping skills that were praised as “strength” but, in reality, kept us stuck in survival mode. This certification gives you the tools to help clients and communities move through the stages of Surviving → High Functioning → Integrating → Liberated Living.
Many of the characteristics we celebrate as “Black culture” are really coping mechanisms that grew out of survival. These mechanisms often get woven into our identity until they show up as strong character traits.
On the surface, they look positive. People say, “She’s fearless, strong, independent, takes risks, can handle anything.” But those qualities often come from fear and constant survival, not from safety or choice. Take the “strong, independent Black woman” for example — they say things like isn’t just naturally unshakable? But could it be, that she’s someone who’s been boxing in the ring her whole life and doesn’t know how to step out.
To the outside world, it looks like resilience. But in our relationships, in intimacy, in softer spaces, those traits can become harmful. They make trust harder, because so many of us were raised by mothers who had to overcompensate—teaching us toughness, pushing us into sports, preparing us to fight, to protect ourselves at all costs. What looks like confidence or fearlessness was often forged in chaos: surviving our households, our schools, our parents, our siblings, and society itself.
We didn’t develop these traits in healthy soil—we developed them in survival mode. And when you grow up like that, you don’t get the option to be “soft.” You had to be sharp, strong, and unbreakable, because anything less could get you trampled.
So, when you start calling these things what they are—Black coping mechanisms—it reframes everything. These are not just neutral strengths; they’re rooted in fear, loss, and generational survival. They look admirable to others, but for us, they often cost connection, softness, and peace.
That’s the beauty of Rooted Function Theory—it helps us name what was never named. It helps us see that what looks like culture is sometimes just survival, and naming it opens the door to healing beyond survival.

The Rooted Function Healing Framework
-
✺
Reveals Stage of Functioning
It helps identify whether a client is in Surviving, High-Functioning, Integrating, or Liberated stages — clarifying how regulated, resourced, or fragmented they are in daily life.
-
✺
Breaks Down Core Frequency & Intensity
Each stage has a “core frequency” (fear, shame, disconnection, regulation, etc.) that drives patterns of thought, behavior, and energy. The theory helps clients see the underlying emotional or energetic root they’re operating from.
-
✺
Exposes Root Patterns
It shows the root cause behind surface behaviors, such as unmet needs, trauma responses, or generational conditioning — making sense of why the same cycles repeat.
-
✺
Maps Root-to-Response Pathways
It breaks down how external triggers (like obligations, family, betrayal, or pressure) move through the internal system → create emotion → and then shape behavior (avoidance, overgiving, shutting down, etc.).
-
✺
Reveals Blocks to Liberation
It highlights where someone is stuck — whether in fear, dysregulation, people-pleasing, or avoidance — so that the healing plan can directly target what keeps them from moving toward liberated living.
-
✺
Guides Practical Healing Rituals
It translates the root findings into rituals, tools, and practices (e.g., movement, journaling, herbal remedies, relational boundaries) that align with the client’s stage and help them shift toward wholeness.
Rooted Function Theory™ (RFT) is a heart–soul–spirit framework that guides people from
Surviving → High-Functioning → Integrating → Liberated Living.
Unlike most theories that separate spirituality, somatic work, mental health, and practical tools, RFT unites them all: breathwork, movement/Kemetic Yoga, journaling, self-advocacy, emotional mapping, and coaching structures.
At its foundation are two original psychologies I’ve spent 7+ years creating:
The Rooted Psychology of Patterns™ → the backbone of RFT, mapping survival strategies, behavior loops, and cultural coping mechanisms. This reveals why people function as they do and how to shift those patterns.
Frequency Psychology™ → the energetic and emotional dimension of RFT, showing how alignment, embodiment, and vibrational states move us into liberated living.
Together, these psychologies form the soul of Rooted Function Theory™. They are not borrowed ideas — they are original frameworks born from lived experience, deep practice, and years of refinement.
RFT honors cultural and generational survival strategies; especially for Black and Brown communities who have been mislabeled as “angry” or “too much” when in truth, their intensity is resilience. This work helps us reclaim emotional integrity, restore alignment, and come back home to ourselves.

For the past six months, I’ve been incorporating Rooted Function Theory™ with clients.
The results are measurable and profound:
March 2025: Client entered at ~6/6, high survival stage (anxiety, poor sleep, no boundaries).
April–May: Practiced boundaries, rage release, and womb healing herbs → dropped to 4.5/6.
July: Direct communication improved, though marital boundaries still a struggle → 4.0/6.
Aug–Sep: Shifted to 1–8 scale → stabilized at 4/8 (Integrating Stage). Sleep and anxiety improved, boundaries held firm.
SELF-LOVE FREQUENCIES
Self-Love Frequencies™ is a trauma-informed, culturally rooted workbook that helps you identify how you’re actually functioning—then gives you practical tools to shift from survival to alignment. Through eight core frequencies, simple assessments, and daily micro-practices, you’ll learn to map your emotional landscape, name what’s missing, and grow the medicine that brings you back to yourself.

Make it stand out
Two healing Psychologies
Rooted Function Theory
Rooted Function Theory is anchored in two original psychologies I’ve spent more than seven years developing: The Rooted Psychology of Patterns and Frequency Psychology. Both were born from lived experiences that transformed into frameworks for healing.
The Rooted Psychology of Patterns
In 2020, I was in a relationship marked by explosive arguments, mini breakups, and confusing repair attempts. I started doing something small but radical: I opened a paper calendar and began tracking behaviors over time—not just the big blowups, but tone shifts, distancing, apologies, reconnection, and my own body cues. Within three to six months, a rhythm emerged. Conflicts spiked between the first and the sixth of the month, followed by a predictable period of withdrawal. It was a cycle—loud, then quiet; rupture, then distance.
That discovery changed everything. Once I named the pattern, I could stop personalizing every swing. I could prepare my nervous system, set boundaries around contact, and choose my own regulation plan for those early-month days. Pattern-mapping didn’t excuse harm; it gave me language and timing. I could say, “We’re entering our high-conflict window. I’m not available for escalation, but I am available for a calm talk on Thursday.” Clarity became protection.
To live this philosophy, I had to learn how to return to myself—and it was hard. Returning looked like stepping out of the escalation window, choosing stillness when my body wanted to argue, telling the truth even when my voice shook, and honoring boundaries I used to abandon. It meant feeling the grief underneath the chaos, letting go of over-functioning, and giving myself the same care I kept giving away.
As I kept mapping, I added layers. I listened for repeated statements. These weren’t just words; they were scripts. I noticed generational echoes in both of us—phrases we’d inherited and rehearsed long before we met. I tracked trauma-based coping—fight, flight, freeze, fawn—across partners, friendships, and eventually clients. I noted my somatic tells (tears, raised shoulders, lack of eye contact). Over time, my calendar became a map of frequency: when false frequencies surged (control, judgment, avoidance), when a frequency went missing (stillness, sound), and what medicine from Self-Love Frequencies™ brought us back toward center (space, rhythm, repair rituals).
From those pages, a framework crystallized: Rooted Psychology of Patterns©—a way to decode functioning, recognize survival loops, and empower healing through awareness + choice. The questions shifted from “What’s wrong with me/us?” to:
What is the pattern? (when it starts, how it moves, who it involves)
What is it trying to achieve? (safety, closeness, control, freedom)
What’s the intensity of the pattern or behavior?
Which frequency is false? Which is missing?
What is the small, repeatable medicine (boundary, breath, movement, voice, stillness) that moves this toward alignment?
Out of that lived experience came the tools I teach now: the Root-to-Response© trace the behavior to its root, honor its original purpose (survival), regulate the body, and re-route the response into something aligned. What began as a calendar and a pen became a practice of compassionate precision to protect yourself, honor the truth, and ultimately choose a new path.
Frequency Psychology
Years prior, in 2018, I entered relationships that taught me something simple and undeniable: energy lives in the body. In one connection, living “in the gray”—never given a clear yes or no—left me with a double heartbeat that pulsed for months. Doctors cleared me; my calendar did not. The palpitations spiked after ambiguous conversations, unread messages, and half-commitments. When I finally gave voice to my truth—naming what I wanted and where I stood—the rhythm settled. What I had called anxiety was, in part, a blocked voice. My body was asking me to speak.
In another relationship, I developed a deep, stubborn pain in my lower back. I stretched, rested, iced. The ache stayed. A clairvoyant mirrored what I already knew: the pain tracked misalignment—carrying more than my share, holding up a bond that would not support me back. As I released that connection and reclaimed my self-worth, the pain lifted. The exit did not erase grief; it rebalanced weight. My spine told the truth my mouth was not ready to say.
Those experiences revealed a universal law I now teach: unexpressed emotion doesn’t disappear—it locates. It stores as tight jaw, shallow breath, clenched belly, frozen shoulders, a heart that hammers when a boundary is needed. Just as we are designed to sweat, exhale, and eliminate, we are designed to metabolize feeling. When we don’t—when we suppress, perform, or delay—the body will keep our place in line. It will hold the ticket until we return to complete the cycle.
I began paying close attention to sequence: trigger → sensation → urge → behavior → after-effect. I noticed how survival energy moved: fast, narrow, urgent, braced. I noticed what helped it discharge: voice (naming the need), movement (walking, shaking, hip/heart openers), breath and sound (sighs, humming), and stillness (a wind-down ritual). I also watched what made it worse: performing OK, over-explaining, silencing myself, staying in the gray, and holding what wasn’t mine.
Over time, language formed around what my body had taught me. Survival energy feels heavy and constricted—protective, efficient, but expensive. High-Functioning energy is a form of walking on eggshells, heightened awareness, but not fully embodied, Integrating energy widens, there’s space to feel, decide, and repair. Liberated energy feels coherent and connected, voice, body, and choice moving in the same direction.
When I started listening, I noticed when Sound was missing, my throat spoke in symptoms; when Resistance was missing, my back carried the cost; when Stillness was missing, my decisions outran my wisdom; when Movement was missing, emotion hardened into ache.
This body-first understanding became Frequency Psychology©, the study and practice of how energy, emotion, and behavior vibrate through us, and how we can guide them back into flow. It is not about chasing positivity or policing feelings. It is about metabolism: letting what is true move through voice, breath, and body so it does not have to live as pain. In this lens, symptoms become signals; patterns become maps; and healing becomes a set of repeatable repairs.
Rooted Psychology of Patterns© reveals when/why cycles repeat—mapping triggers, timing, scripts, and generational echoes → a shared language for change.
Frequency Psychology© decodes how those cycles live in the body—reading energetic states and prescribing “medicine” via Self-Love Frequencies™ → insight becomes embodied repair.
Together inside the Certified Rooted Function Holistic Practitioner pathway, they form a clear protocol: Assessment → Pattern Map → Frequency/Archetype ID → Daily Medicine Micro-Practice → Healing Plans.
Result → trauma-informed, culturally responsive care that protects nervous systems, strengthens relationships, and delivers measurable progress you can feel and track.
