When we feel good, we want to show if off! For some, this could mean increased instagram posts, increased selfie collection in your phone and/or increased time staring at yourself in the mirror. We all do it -- best outfit on and hair slayed to perfection. We dub this phenomenon THE BOOST!
In the case of Ashley Crews, we are here for it. Through her business HairVention, based in New Jersey, Ashley took advice from an old colleague and transformed her advice into an empowering, self-love based business, HairVentionZ. HairVentionZ is an on demand healthy haircare and wellness business, based in NJ traveling to NYC, and MD.
In Ashley’s mobile salon, her mission is to improve the natural hair movement by giving women a natural boost. Whether it's in the shop or the comforts of your home, Ashley aims to slay your hair while educating. She prides herself on growing with her clients and just simply doing the best damn job possible!
We think Ashley Crews is the epitome of taking a concept and making it your own. We can get used to a stylist coming by to empower and transform our look. We see you GIRL and dub you the Queen of the natural boost!
Relationships are an important aspect of our social realm. It's a way to stay connected outside of ourselves. The saddest part is not knowing when and how to walk away from unhealthy ones. Through her business gmichelle, Michelle White from Atlanta, GA, ends her time as a bystander and becomes the ultimate advocate in relationship education. With extensive experience as a licensed social worker, clinical therapist and statewide trainer working with people who have survived interpersonal trauma, domestic violence and child abuse, Michelle understands how difficult it is to overcome the pain felt from unsafe relationships. We’re aware that we have sisters in domestic violence relationships, mentally abusive relationships and in emotionally abusive relationships. So that means we need to do more to show them they aren't alone and someone is there is help. Michelle’s web platform has resources, podcasts, downloads and an array of tools for guided meditation and ways to help you find a therapist. Her latest edition, “Self Explore, Self Restore: A Guided Self-Care Journal Created to Support Your Relationship with Yourself” By helping to create an environment for people to feel safe, we have deemed Michelle White as Queen of the Safe Space.
Sometimes when life happens, it really happens! As a human, we can only adjust along the way because quite frankly we can't prepare for everything. Realizing the lack of self care within herself, Pack created therapeutic products to encourage more self care and self love. Can we also mention that her products have the cutest names! In this crazy world we live in, you have to understand you're not alone sis. Mental stability, self care and self love are all necessary for strength and peace of mind. That's why we are deeming Courtney Pack as the Queen of Beauty.Happiness.Healing

We all see the news feeds through our socials or we hear about the tragedies happening amongst our people….BUT how many of us are doing something about it? Tajh Sutton in Brooklyn, New York decided to step up and took action. Inspired by the execution of Troy Davis and the murder of Trayvon Martin, through her businesses Young People of Color Incorp. & Loc Love Lives Here, Tajh is reshaping minds to create a more positive environmental outlook. Teaching young people about life and the things that come with being OF COLOR is both difficult and at times heartbreaking to do, but she’s taking on the job with pride by offering practical solutions! That's why we have deemed Tajh Sutton “Queen of the Young People of Color”.
Back in the day being vegan was a taboo. It was one of those things that seemed way too hard and way too expensive. Many of us made the mistake of ignoring the impact of eating less animal products thinking that it would be way too hard. But like many, Kyna Willis in Atlanta, GA, found herself suffering from fibroids. Inspired to make the transition to a plant-based diet, Kyna later started a web-series to share her journey. With her web-series, The Turnip, Kyna is introducing well respected African American restaurant owners who are adding a little flava to the vegan and plant-based lifestyle. As a publicist, Kyna saw that she could not only give exposure to these owners, but also educate Black & Caribbean women on how a plant-based diet eliminated most of her fibroids. Kyna said NO to suffering in silence and said yes to the green life. We dub Kyna the queen of plant-based, TURN-UP!
Time to talk about the elephant in the room when it comes to hair: Alopecia. None of my sisters should feel ashamed about it and there are solutions to help. Through her business Makeba Co & The I Am Grooming Co, Kamika is giving people organic products that provide results. Reviving hair and healing hearts, we have deemed Kamika Queen of Alopecia Care.
Creating the life you want means going after what it takes to obtain it. You have to surround yourself with positive energy and believe that what you put out is what you will get back. Always remember, people will talk about you regardless of what you do and how you do it, so GIVE THEM SOMETHING GREAT TO TALK ABOUT. My business has help me become more social and outgoing. It's taught me to open my mind to new experiences! The world of makeup is so much more than blush, eyeshadow and colors. It's about empowering, motivating, sharing and most of all development of self love. I'm in love with my reflection and I'm comfortable in the skin I'm in! // Tangela Bennett founder of @FacesByDaze in Miami, Florida!
