Big Mama

Big Mama

Before I got older, I use to call you mama.

Then, I realized that you were just filling in for your daughter, who was really my mama.

You taught me how to cook.

You showed me how to clean.

Watching you pray was always a delight.

You always said, whatever happens, it’ll be alright.

You never complained.

You always made me feel special.

You told me to treat people how I wanted to be treated.

You instilled your vitals in me.

You never talked down about my mother at all.

You told me to make sure I embrace her when she comes back around; she was raised right, she just had a few falls.

Happy Mother’s Day Big Mama and I appreciate it all!
