Blue Daze

Blue Daze

Black canvas,

Paint brush full of fear.

Quivering voices,

Whispering, please don’t let the monster come near.

Hands tied, feeling like they have no choices.

Deep stories buried within.

Closing their eyes reliving it again,

You are the enemy, why do you pretend to be a friend.

Unforgettable tears,

Streams of wishes,

Puddles of hope,

Praying for rescue,

Searching for peace,

Innocent souls screaming save me.

Hold their hands, give them a new canvas and allow them to paint it beautifully.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention month; let’s remember our children that are living in a Blue Daze.

“Just because the canvas is black doesn’t mean that it has to stay that way.”
