Beer for Beauty
By Erma W.
The great thing about beauty care is that it is versatile. Gorgeous hair and glowing skin aren't confined to traditional shampoos, conditioners, and creams. We can also beautify ourselves with products from our cabinets, refrigerators, and even our "turn-up" glasses. Yes, that "feel-good juice" can give hair and skin a much-needed boost. Here's how:
1. Beer Hair Rinse: Strengthen your strands with a beer rinse. After shampooing, add one ounce of distilled water, one ounce of beer, and two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to your hair. You may also add a few drops of your favorite essential oil if you like. Beer has a low pH, so this mixture is a must-try for the high-porosity heads.
2. Beer Conditioner: One cup of warm beer and one teaspoon of jojoba oil is all you need for lustrous hair. If the shine factor isn't enough to sway you, think about the nourishment aspect. The yeast in beer contains vitamins and proteins that reinforce the structure of strands. Go on and try it!
3. Beer Facial Mask: This may give you pause, but take the dive. Besides, if you've put avocados and yogurt and coconut milk on your face, a beer facial shouldn't be so eyebrow-raising. Just combine one-half teaspoon of beer, one egg white, and one drop of almond extract. Smooth it onto your face and glow your way to healthy skin courtesy of the selenium, magnesium, iron, zinc, and potassium in beer.
Pour up in good hair and skin health!
