Actress Nicole Ari Parker has used her hair experience as inspiration for helping other women. Officially taking the big chop in 2012, Parker has found ways of taming and styling her TWA. At the time of her chop, she was starring in the Broadways adaptation of a Street Car Named Desire, so she was able to keep her hair protected with wigs on stage. From that, she noticed how her hair was changing and getting better. She told Curly Nikki, “My hair is just really loving being natural, being moisturized. Our hair is so much more versatile than what we give it credit for.”
With her new style and awareness of the natural hair world, she developed a hair wrap that is going to “save our do.” The wrap is for those of us who love to work out, but are afraid our hair will become a mess from sweat. The wrap was designed to soak up that sweat leaving hair with minimum damage. Parker not only recommends her wrap, but she also recommends the uses of Shea butter and other balms in natural hair for moisture and strength. With a TV series, “The Secret Lives of Husband and Wives” premiering soon, Parker is expected to be promoting the show and rocking her mini fro.
